So, 82% of this new formula ingredients are becoming bio-sourced (derived from potatoes, corn, wheat and manioc). Moreover, this new Duo base & top coat is 10 Free guaranteed, Zao have removed 2 new harmful ingredients: styrene and benzophenone. Glitter top coat is Vegan certified and 8 Free guaranteed, meaning without toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, synthetic camphor, dibutyl phthalate, paraben, xylene and rosin. The new formula is also vegan certified.

    Packaging

    The Zao nail polish comes packaged in a glass container with a bamboo lid, it does include a plastic applicator with a vegan synthetic brush.

    Zao may not be 100% plastic-free, however they are a brand that is constantly changing their packaging to make it as sustainable as possible. We have already seen this with their powders and other makeup.
